When the owners of a detached family home in High Lane decided to update their property, they didn't want a piecemeal job. They wanted new windows and doors throughout, plus a new conservatory roof, all with one clean, consistent look across the whole house.
Affinity Glass was asked to make that happen, and to do it on a tight timetable.
How it started
Like a growing number of homeowners, Briony didn't find us through a leaflet or a search listing. She found Affinity Glass by asking an AI assistant for a recommended glazing company in the area.
From there, things moved quickly. The clients knew what they wanted and wanted it done soon. After just two home visits to measure up, talk through the options and agree the specification, they gave us the go ahead within two weeks.
What the clients wanted
The brief was clear from the start:
• Flush sash uPVC windows throughout. Every window across the house, front and back, in a flush finish for a sleek, modern look that sits neatly within the brickwork.
• New uPVC doors to match, including the rear door into the single storey extension.
• A conservatory roof replacement fitted with heat sensitive automatic roof vents, so the room regulates its own temperature on warm days without anyone needing to open a window.
The result is a home that looks like it was designed as one piece rather than updated over the years.
Working to a fixed deadline
There was an important deadline. The clients had a new garden and driveway installation booked to follow straight after us, so the glazing had to be finished first.
We allocated two weeks for the full project. Work started on 22nd September and was completed on 2nd October, within the time we had promised.
Shahram, our founder, managed the job on site every day. That daily oversight meant the clients always had one person to speak to, and any issue was dealt with the same day rather than left to build up.
Dealing with the unexpected
No project of this size runs without a hiccup. During the installation, a couple of manufacturing errors came to light on some of the units supplied.
Rather than letting that push the finish date back, we had them corrected and refitted within the original two week timescale. The clients' garden and drive team were able to start exactly as planned.
The finished result: windows and doors in High Lane, Stockport
Every window, door and the conservatory roof was replaced in under a fortnight, with a uniform flush finish across the entire property. The photos speak for themselves: crisp white frames, clean sight lines and a conservatory that is now comfortable to use all year round.
What Briony said
Briony left a perfect 10 out of 10 review on Checkatrade, titled “Excellent in all ways”. She praised the quality of the work and singled out John, one of our installers:
“John was a workhorse, working tirelessly and his work was of the highest standard.”
She also mentioned how polite and friendly the whole team were, and how happy they were to answer questions and help wherever they could. That is exactly the experience we aim to give every customer.
